When it Comes to Disaster Recovery Just How Far?

When it comes to determining the required distance between your primary and recovery data centers DO NOT use averages. If your primary center is in Miami would 200 miles be far enough? Probably not, but in Des Moines 50 miles is likely more than you will ever need. It is essential to assess your location and the history of natural disasters in your area. Hurricanes effect a much larger area than tornadoes and floods have a more lasting impact than a snow storm.
